SSIP (Safety Systems in Procurement) is the umbrella organisation whose members comply to PAS91 Safety Standard.
If you’ve been asked to become an Approved Supplier, you must join a member scheme, undertake an assessment and be found compliant with the core criteria of the PAS91 standard.
SMAS, CHAS and Constructionline are some examples of the more popular and recognised SSIP member schemes.
In order to work for certain clients or on certain sites you will be required to have SSIP Approved supplier status and usually through your clients designated or chosen scheme. This can lead you to having multiple approved supplier statuses on the SSIP Portal.
